F20 Code Help – Heat Sink Temperature

F20 (MMX/MMV™ Only): Heat sink too hot

F20 (MMX/MMV™ Only): Heat sink too hot

Code Meaning: The drive heat sink temperature has risen above a predetermined value.

Further Information/Troubleshooting Tips:

  1. Make sure your cabinet is properly cooled. If the electrical panel is mounted in an area where ambient temperatures can reach higher than the maximum temperature rating of the unit, an enclosure air conditioner is recommended.
  2. If your electrical panel has fans or air conditioning, make sure they are working properly.
  3. PE® drives are designed to be mounted vertically on an electrical panel (mounted so the print on the device is upright). The heat sink fins in the unit are designed to cool best with that orientation. If the drive is mounted with another orientation, you may need to add fans or air conditioning to the panel–even if the normal ambient temperatures are much lower than the maximum temperature rating of the unit.
